The CowboyFanbulance is a 1989 GMC truck converted by the Wheeled Coach corporation into use as an ambulance. It is privately owned by two families from Tulsa, Oklahoma who made the decision to “Cowboy Up” and create the ultimate OSU fan vehicle. It has tons of storage, working lights, sirens and public address system. It has been fitted with all the tailgate necessities, two flat screen televisions, satellite dish, home theater sound system, a built-in kegerator with “six shooter” handle, a massage chair and several other novelties. It also boasts an observation platform complete with a built in ladder to enable fans to get a birds-eye view of the famous tailgating activities at Boone Pickens Stadium. We call the upper deck the “Next Level”. It can easily be spotted in the Posse parking lot by looking for a tall flagpole with an OSU flag on top with the Jolly Roger (Skull & Crossbones) directly underneath.
The Cowboy Fanbulance makes its home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The inspiration for the Cowboy Fanbulance comes from several sources, most notably the “Bullet Bus”, owned and operated by some close friends. Although the Bullet Bus is now retired, its spirit lives on. The inspiration and motivation for the built-in kegerator came from a Texas Tech tailgater we met in Lubbock. He has the Tech Cruiser, a slick 70’s model Chevrolet Suburban with the keg handle built-in to the side of the vehicle. We tried his kegerator repeatedly at the game last year and thought it would be good to have our own. We think we’ve out-done him in a big way. |
